President and CEO Testifies on the G.R.E.E.N Act(PDF, 98K)
On Wednesday, June 11, Enterprise Community Partners President and CEO Doris W. Koo testified before the House Financial Services Committee at a hearing on H.R. 6078, the Green Resources for Energy Efficient Neighborhoods Act of 2008 (G.R.E.E.N. Act). This legislation would raise the bar for environmental performance in affordable housing, authorizing new federal resources for green affordable development while innovatively providing incentive to the private sector to invest in green affordable homes for people with low incomes. Progress in Gulf Produces Housing, Hope
Nearly three years since the 2005 hurricanes swept the Gulf Coast region, Enterprise and local and national partners continue providing technical and financial resources to help low-income people return home. In New Orleans, 30 seniors will soon move into the newly constructed Wisdom Manor, featuring affordable apartments, wireless Internet and a community garden. Progress occurs across the region, including in Biloxi, Miss. – where the Biloxi Housing Authority has completed or begun construction on 1,000 new homes. Read more about the revitalization underway.
